Resetting the password for an administrative account

If you need to, you can reset an account’s password without modifying any other user account information, if you have the PRIV_ACCOUNT privilege in your role.

When you reset a password, SirsiDynix Enterprise assigns a random string as the password and emails it to the address specified in the account. The owner of the account can then log in to the Admin console and change the password by editing the settings for the account. (For more information, see Editing your own account.)

You can change your own password. For example, you can change the password for the “admin” account in Edit Account while you are logged in to the “admin” account.
