If you do not want use the rooms feature available in SirsiDynix Portfolio , or if you want to provide a profile that allows only searching, you can set up the Home Room to include only Searching interface. The Searching interface includes only the Search text box and possibly a menu for restricting searches based on pre-configured limits. SirsiDynix Portfolio does not display the room tree not is there any way for patrons to open or view room content. You can set up the Home Room as a search-only page whether you have created room and added content or whether you have not created any rooms.
If you are NOT migrating to SirsiDynix Portfolio from a SirsiDynix product that had rooms functionality, your default setup is a profile that does not include rooms.
If you decide to add rooms, you should also change the layout of the Home Room to include the room tree. (For more information, see Fields: Add/Edit Room.)
