Copying a metadata template

You can quickly create a metadata template by copying an existing metadata template, modifying the template information, and saving the new metadata template. When you copy an existing metadata template, all of the information in that template is copied to the new metadata template. This allows you to modify as many or as few fields as you want to create the new template.

SirsiDynix Portfolio requires one metadata template to be the default metadata template. If another template is already set as the default, and you specify another template as the default template, that template becomes the new default metadata template. If you are currently editing the default template, the checkbox to set the template as the default template is disabled and cannot be changed.

To modify an existing metadata template

The Manage Assets page displays.

The Configure Asset Management page displays a menu of options. (For descriptions of the options, see Fields: Configure Asset Management.)

The Manage Metadata Template page displays. (For descriptions of the fields on this page, see Fields: Manage Metadata Templates.)

The Copy Metadata Template page displays. The fields are filled with information from the metadata template you selected.
