The External Link media type and the Unknown media type are delivered with SirsiDynix Portfolio , but do not display in the Manage Media Types page, and cannot be modified.
Use the Edit option for an existing media type to edit settings and information for the media type. When you save the changes to the media type, the new settings will be used when assets with that media type are added to the digital asset hierarchy.

To modify a media type
| 1 | Log in to the Admin console. |
| 2 | Choose Manage Assets from the navigation pane. |
| 3 | Choose Configure Asset Management. |
The Configure Asset Management page displays a menu of options.
| 4 | Choose Manage Media Types. |
The Manage Media Types page displays and lists the media types that have already been defined for digital assets. (For information about the media types list, see Fields: Manage Media Types.)
| 5 | Choose the Edit icon ( ) in the media type list for the media type you want to modify. |
The Edit Media Type page displays and contains the current information and settings for the selected media type.
| 6 | Modify the information, as needed. (For descriptions of each field on the Edit Media Type page, see Fields: Add/Edit Media Type.) |
| 7 | Choose OK to save your changes and return to the Manage Media Types page. |
