The Edit option for each existing template on the Manage Metadata Templates page allows you to make changes to that metadata template. You can add or remove required metadata fields, add or remove optional metadata fields, change certain information for the metadata template, or choose an existing template to be used as the default metadata template.
SirsiDynix Portfolio requires one metadata template to be the default metadata template. If another template is already set as the default, and you specify another template as the default template, that template becomes the new default metadata template. If you are currently editing the default template, the checkbox to set the template as the default template is disabled and cannot be changed.
To modify an existing metadata template
| 1 | Log in to the Admin console. |
| 2 | Choose Manage Assets from the navigation pane. |
The Manage Assets page displays.
| 3 | Choose Configure Asset Management. |
The Configure Asset Management page displays a menu of options. (For descriptions of the options, see Fields: Configure Asset Management.)
| 4 | Choose Manage Metadata Templates. |
The Manage Metadata Template page displays. (For descriptions of the fields on this page, see Fields: Manage Metadata Templates.)
| 5 | Choose the Edit option (  ) for the metadata template you want to modify. |
The Edit Metadata Template page displays.
| 6 | Modify the fields as needed. (For more information, see Fields: Add/Edit/Copy Metadata Template.) |
| 7 | Choose OK to save your changes to the metadata template and return to the Manage Metadata Templates page. |
