Moving or copying a digital asset

You can move or copy an asset to a different folder within the digital asset hierarchy.

Moving an asset removes it from the original folder and places it in a destination folder.

Copying an asset links the asset to both the original folder and the destination folder. When you modify either copy of the asset, the corresponding asset is modified as well. However, when you delete an asset with one or more linked copies, you will be prompted to confirm the removal of only the selected asset from the digital asset hierarchy. To remove all linked copies of an asset, you must manually delete each linked copy.

The assets that you can move or copy depend on the permissions of your login and of the assets. If your login does not have the required permissions to move or copy an asset, that asset will not display in the Directory tree.

To move or copy an asset

The Manage Assets page displays. The digital asset hierarchy appears under Directory.
