Removing a metadata template

If you no longer want to use a particular metadata template, or you want to remove a template that was created by mistake, use the Delete option next to the metadata template that you want to remove.

Exercise caution when deleting a metadata template. Once a metadata template is permanently removed from the system, it cannot be restored.

You cannot remove the metadata template that is set as the default metadata template, and if the template is the only remaining metadata template. SirsiDynix Portfolio requires one metadata template to be specified as the default metadata template. To remove a template that is selected as the default metadata template, edit another template to set it as the default metadata template. Then, use the Delete option for the template you want to remove.

To remove an existing metadata template

The Manage Assets page displays.

The Configure Asset Management page displays a menu of options. (For descriptions of the options, see Fields: Configure Asset Management.)

The Manage Metadata Template page displays. (For descriptions of the fields on this page, see Fields: Manage Metadata Templates.)

A deletion confirmation message similar to the following displays.

Are you sure you want to delete template_name?
