Copying a MARC Map

You can base a MARC Map on an existing default (SirsiDynix-delivered) or custom MARC Map in your system. When you copy a MARC Map, the system creates a new MARC Map with all of the properties, tags, and subfields of the original MARC Map. You can edit any portion of the new MARC Map. The only restriction is that the new MARC Map must have a unique code. You should also change the name of the new MARC Map so you can distinguish the difference between the original MARC Map and its copy.

After adding or making changes to any MARC Map, you will need to harvest any search sources that will be using that MARC Map for the changes to show up in the Searching interface.

Note: If the Code isn't a unique value, SirsiDynix Portfolio displays an error message when you save the changes.
