The Seria Library of Language and Literature Bureau was established on 12 February 1977 at Jalan Bunga Melor. It was transferred to a new building on 28 February 1990, and was officiated by Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Awang Haji Selamat bin Munap, Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport at that time.
